KEN HUISMAN
While still in Panama, I recieved a letter from a friend, a music store owner, offering me a gig repairing band instruments. Well, 40&1/2 years later I retired from the bench and took on a different life. In 1972, Jan Koster & I married, and 2 sons blessed our household. As soon as I hit town after the Army, I joined the musicians union (local 56),and started gigging with numerous and varied venues, including, but not limited to Jazz combos, G.R. Symphony, my own big band (15 pieces), dixieland, shows, wind ensembles, an alumni orch, and, yes, the Holiday Inn (sigh). I include in my arsenal S,A,T,B sax, clarinet, bass clar, flute, and trumpet. Having been blessed with good health, I would guess I've played 462,790million notes (joke).
Looking forward to seeing the (old) cats if this is
in the cards.
